SYNOPSIS

LIMINAL follows scientists who build a portal to another dimension. In a hidden laboratory bathed in blue light, they succeed in creating a gateway—and decide to journey through it themselves.

What awaits them is a realm of impossible geometries and beings of pure light. One of these entities bestows upon them a gift that could transform humanity forever: knowledge that transcends the boundaries of human understanding.

But the dimension is unstable. A predator lurks within its shifting corridors, drawn to the presence of outsiders. As the portal begins to collapse, the scientists must flee—and in their desperate escape, they lose the very gift they came to claim.

The journey home will cost them everything. LIMINAL is a story about discovery, sacrifice, and the price of reaching beyond what we were meant to know.

ABOUT LUND FORCE

Lund Force is the solo project of Andreas Forslund, a Swedish musician and filmmaker based in Uppsala. The melodies of LIMINAL were first composed in Los Angeles in the early 1990s, when Forslund was a teenager writing synth tracks on cheap gear in his bedroom. Thirty years later, he returned to those recordings and fully realized them as a visual album, pairing each chapter with its own cinematic short film.

PRODUCTION

The visuals for LIMINAL were created using Runway's generative video tools, assembled ten seconds at a time and edited in DaVinci Resolve. The finished 32-minute film is built from several thousand individual AI-generated clips. The original 1990s synth compositions were rebuilt with modern production tools while preserving the melodies as written.
